BLUE EARTH – The Fairmont Cardinal boys took home the victory at the 2025 Buc Invite, while the girls team also secured first Friday night.
In the boys 100-meter dash, Fairmont’s Jeremiah Lebbi placed first with a time of 11.4, while teammate Nolan Schultze finished second with an 11.6. From the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers, Jacob Grandgenett finished in third, running an 11.7.
Fairmonts Nathaliah Johnson finished first, running a time of 13.5 in the girls’ 100-meter race. Harper Artz took third with a 13.5, and Mollie Leiding finished fourth, running a 13.8.
Jaydon Putney of Fairmont took first in the 400-meter dash, running a 55.3. Cardinal’s Jordan Thompson finished third, running a 57.9, while teammate Carmyne Hecht finished fourth with a time of 1:00.7.
In the girls 400-meter, Fairmont’s Harper Artz finished first with a time of 1:03, while teammate Abbie Simpson finished second with a time of 1:07.8.
In the boys 1600-meter, Brier Lenort of Fairmont finished in first after running a 4:58.8.
Fairmont’s Kendra Blomster finished fourth in the girls 1600-meter, posting a time of 6:29.8.
Devin Hanson of the Cardinals finished third in the boys 3200-meter running an 11:00.
Fairmont’s Macy Hanson took first in the girls 3200-meter with a time of 10:46.7.
In the boys 300-meter hurdles, Fairmont’s Dakota Wiley took first with a time of 42.4, while BEA’s Marcus Eckles took second (43.5). Jaron Schutz of Fairmont took third with a time of 44.2.
Fairmont’s Nora Fitzgerald took first in the girls 300-meter hurdles posting a 50.1, while Cadence Leiding took second (50.5). Cardinals’ Bella Schroeder finished fourth with a time of 52.7.
In the boys 4×100 relay the Fairmont team of Elijah Johnson, Jeremiah Lebbi, Caleb Chambers, and Nolan Schultze took first with a time of 44.3, while the BEA team of Tristan Hanson, Caden Juba, Jose Salinas, and Jacob Grandgenett finished second posting a 47.1.
The Fairmont team of Nathaliah Johnson, Kennedy Becker, Mollie Leiding, and Harper Artz took first in the girls 4×100 relay with a time of 53.1, while Fairmont’s Alexis Fuller, Jadyn Montgomery, Ava Rodning, and Meredith Nemmers finished second with a time of 54.8.
In the boys 4×200 relay, the Fairmont team of Elijah Johnson, Jeremiah Lebbi, Caleb Chambers, and Nolan Schultze took first with a time of 1:33.2, while Travohn Harvey, Tavian Harvey, Ethan Siebring, and Seth Siebring of the Cardinals took second with a time of 1:38.3.
Fairmont’s Nathaliah Johnson, Mollie Lieding, Emelia Klanderud, and Kennedy Becker took first in the girls 4×200 relay, posting a 1:52.3, while the Fairmont team of Alexis Fuller, Avery Chambers, Addison Toothaker, and Madi Thompson finished second with a time of 1:58.2.
Hogan Artz, Jaydon Putney, Brier Lenort, and Dakota Wiley of Fairmont took first in the 4×400 relay, posting a time of 3:38.6.
In the girls 4×400 relay, Fairmont’s Addison Toothaker, Madi Thompson, Ellie Perkins and Ella Wubbena took first, running a 4:27.3.
The team of Devin Hanson, Jordan Thompson, Brier Lenort, and Jaydon Putney of Fairmont finished first in the 4×800 relay with a time of 8:42.8.
Fairmont’s Abbie Simpson, Avery Steuber, Mackenzie Gerhardt, and Macy Hanson took first place in the 4×800 girls relay with a time of 10:40.7.
In the boys 1600-meter sprint medley relay the Fairmont team of Ethan Siebring, Seth Siebring, Hogan Artz, and Carter Hanson finished first with a time of 3:56.
In the girls 1600-meter SMR the Fairmont team of Addison Toothaker, Nora Fitzgerald, Emelia Klanderud, and Ella Wubbena finished second with a time of 4:41.7.
In the boys 4×100 shuttle hurdles the Fairmont team of Dakota Wiley, Ethan Pockrus, Tytan Tumbleson, and Jaron Schutz finished second with a time of 1:09.3.
The Fairmont team of Bella Schroeder, Nora Fitzgerald, Lianna Weber, and Cadence Leiding finished first in the 4×100 shuttle hurdles with a time of 1:12.5.
Fairmont’s Hank Artz took first in the boys shot put with a throw of 48 feet, 11.5 inches, while Cardinals’ Oliver Tordsen placed second with a throw of 48 feet, 2 inches. BEA’s Chase Gambell finished third with a throw of 42 feet, 3 inches.
Ellie Ortega of Fairmont finished second in the girls shot put with a throw of 35 feet, 9 inches.
Fairmont’s Oliver Tordsen took first in the boys discus with a throw of 164 feet, 5 inches, while teammate Benet Mathiason placed second with a throw of 121 feet, 7 inches. Fairmont’s Caine Gronewold took third with a throw of 115 feet, 6 inches.
BEA’s Isaac Anderons took first in the boys high jump clearing 6 feet, 1 inch, while Fairmont’s Tytan Tumbleson took second clearing 6 feet, 1 inch. BEA’s Branson Hauskins took third clearing 5 feet, 9 inches.
In the girls high jump Fairmont’s Emelia Klanderud took second with a jump of 4 feet, 5 inches, while Nola Thedens took third clearing 4 feet, 5 inches.
Fairmont’s Jase Meade took first in the boys pole vault clearing 10 feet, 3 inches, while teammate Devin Hanson took second clearing 9 feet, 3 inches.
In the girls pole vault Ellie Perkins of Farimont took first clearing 10 feet, 3 inches, while Tailor Douglas of BEA took second place clearing 8 feet, 9 inches. Fairmont’s Mollie Leiding finished third clearing 7 feet, 9 inches, while teammate Jadyn Montgomery finished fourth clearing 7 feet, 3 inches.
Tytan Tumbleson of Fairmont took second in the boys long jump clearing 19 feet, 10.5 inches, while BEA’s Caden Juba took fourth with a jump of 17 feet, 11.5 inches.
In the girls long jump, BEA’s Kyannah Brandt took third, clearing 14 feet, 5.5 inches, while Fairmont’s Meredith Nemmers took fourth with a jump of 13 feet, 8.5 inches.
Fairmont’s Tytan Tumbleson finished second in the boys triple jump clearing 38 feet, 1.75 inches, while teammate Ethan Pockrus took fourth with a jump of 36 feet, 6.5 inches.
In the girls triple jump Farimont’s Jadyn Montgomery took first clearing 30 feet, 8 inches, while teammate Abbie Simpson took third clearing 29 feet, 9.25 inches. BEA’s Sarah Dohm took fourth with a jump of 29 feet.
The Cardinals’ next meet is Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Waseca, and BEA’s next meet is at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Maple River.

MCW 18, HLOF 0
OKABENA – The Martin County West Mavericks cruised past Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda 18-0 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division game Friday night to move their record to 3-1.
Leading the Mavericks was Courtney Anderson with two hits and seven RBI’s four of which came off a grand slam, while Hannah Rosenberg went 3 for 3 with three runs scored. Emily Rosenberg had two hits and an RBI, while Maddie Carlson had two hits and two RBIs. Addy Wohlhuter had two RBIs, while Carlson at pitcher had four strikeouts and allowed no hits or runs. Also pitching Wohlhuter had four strikeouts and allowed no hits or runs.
The Mavericks head to Minnesota Valley Lutheran for a 10:30 a.m. game Saturday.
PREP BASEBALL
MCW 16, HLO/F 11
OKABENA – The Martin County West Mavericks rallied late to claim the victory over Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Friday night to move to 2-1 on the season in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division game.
Leading the Mavericks was Jerry Olson, who went 2 for 4 with four RBIs, while Preston Cepress went 3 for 5 with three RBIs. Lucas Larson went 2 for 5 with three RBIs. MCW pitcher Noah Meixell had six strikeouts in 3 â…” innings, allowing two runs.
The Mavericks will host Loyola Catholic for a 4:30 p.m. game on Thursday.
BOYS GOLF
Fairmont boys take 9th in Worthington
WORTHINGTON – The Fairmont boys golf team placed ninth with a score of 379 at the Worthington Boys Trojan Invite. Lac Qui Parle Valley ultimately took home first place with a score of 335 Friday night.
MacKlain Anderson shot a 96 to take 38th place, while Tyler Heckman took 42nd after shooting a 97. Hudson McKean placed 20th shooting a 90, while Jalin Jackson shot a 102 for 54th.
Fairmont heads to Marshall for a 10 a.m. meet.
MCW boys take third at Fox Lake
SHERBURN – The Martin County West Mavericks placed third at Fox Lake Golf Club shooting a 175, while Sleepy Eye United won the meet with a 159 Friday night.
Kale Larson took first shooting a 34, while Knox Larson shot a 44 for 11th place. Carson Scheff shot a 36 for 13th, while Isaak Engstrom shot a 51 for 18th.
The Mavericks head to Jackson at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
GIRLS GOLF
MCW girls take 2nd at Fox Lake
SHERBURN – The Martin County West Mavericks placed second in a girls golf meet at Fox Lake Golf Club shooting a 249 Friday night, while Sleepy Eye United took the win by shooting a 198.
Brenna Heifner finished second after shooting a 50, while Ariel Freeman and Morgan McCorkell tied for ninth after shooting a 64. Aaliyah Bolstad shot a 71 for 13th, while Clare Striemer tied for 13th also shooting a 71.
The Mavericks head to Jackson at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
