The Big South Conference All-Conference Girls Basketball Team has been announced, with the Fairmont Cardinals having a forward and a guard on the squad.

Senior forward Ellie Ortega was selected for the team. Ortega finished her season with 281 points and had 173 rebounds, 42 assists, 50 steals, and five blocks to claim her place on the squad. Ortega’s rebounding and passing were solid all season for the Cardinals. Ortega averaged 9.7 points, six rebounds, 1.4 assists, and 1.72 per game.

Alongside Ortega on the team was junior Brylee Miller. The Fairmont guard closed out a record-breaking season with 644 points, 223 rebounds, 132 assists, 122 steals, and 13 blocks. Miller averaged 22.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 4.2 steals per game.
