Area Roundup: Bromeland nets 1,000th point against Mavs

SHERBURN – The Blue Earth Buccaneers defeated the Martin County West Mavericks 86-57 in a nonconference game Thursday night as Will Bromeland scored his 1,000th point for the Bucs.
Leading the Mavericks was Kale Larson with 14 points and four rebounds, while Jacob Wilmes had 13 points and five rebounds.
Leading the Buccaneers was Will Bromeland with 21 points and seven rebounds, while Sully Dahlberg had 20 points and five rebounds. Gage Barker had 19 points.
The Mavericks (6-15) host Mankato Loyola in Trimont at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and the Buccaneers (9-11) host Belle Plaine at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
WASECA 88, GHEC/T/ML 58
TRUMAN – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars fell to the Waseca Bluejays 88-58 in a nonconference game Thursday night.
Leading the Jaguars was Eli Jensen with 16 points and four rebounds, while Jackson Madsen had 16 points and three rebounds. Brody Grathwohl had 14 points and four rebounds, while Bryce Borkenhagen had 6 points and five rebounds. Carson Hastad had 4 points and seven rebounds.
The Jaguars (9-11) head to United South Central at 7 p.m. Monday.

SLEEPY EYE – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars fell to the Sleepy Eye St Mary’s Knights 98-44 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference game Thursday night.
Leading the Jaguars was Keira Benck with 20 points, while Londyn Bowers had 8 points. Madison Lewis had 6 points and six rebounds.
The Jaguars (11-11) host United South Central in Northrop at 7 p.m. Monday.
PREP GYMNASTICS
MAGIC 132.75, PIPESTONE 131.325
PIPESTONE – The Martin County Area Magic defeated the Pipestone Arrows 132.75-131.325 Thursday night in a nonconference gymnastics meet.
Leading the Magic and securing second place all-around was Lillie Schultz with a 34.225, fourth in vault with a (8.775), first on the bars with an (8.4), fifth on the beam with a (7.75), and first in the floor exercise with a (9.3). Nola Thedens took fourth all-around with a 32.8, third in the vault (8.8), fifth on the bars (7.6), sixth on the beam (7.65), and fourth in the floor exercise (8.75). Avery Steuber finished seventh all-around with a 24.05, seventh in the vault (8.35), eighth on the beam (7.3), and fifth in the floor exercise (8.4).
The Magic host Worthington at 6 p.m. for a conference tournament meet on Friday.
