TRUMAN – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars defeated Nicollet Thursday night in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division basketball game.

Leading the Jaguars was Eli Jensen with a career-high tying 30 points and seven rebounds, while Carson Hastad had 13 points and five rebounds. Jackson Madsen had 9 points and six rebounds.

Now 8-9 on the season, the Jaguars head to Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda at 6 p.m. on Monday.

MADELIA 69, MAVERICKS 66

SHERBURN – The Martin County West Mavericks fell to Maddelia despite being up 31-27 at the half the Mavericks fell 69-66 in a Tomahawk-Valley Conference, Valley Division game Thursday night.

Leading the Mavericks was Jacob Wilmes with 25 points and nine rebounds, while Lucas Larson had 14 points and three assists. Josh Roben had 10 points on the night.

The Mavericks (6-13) head to Cleveland at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

GIRLS HOCKEY

ROCHESTER MAYO 4, FAIRMONT 3

ROCHESTER – The Fairmont Cardinals fell to Rochester Mayo 4-3 in a nonconference girls hockey game Thursday night.

Scoring for the Cardinals was Haylyn Haycraft assisted by Lexi Haycraft. The second goal came off of the stick of Lexi Haycraft assisted by Mariel Parish and Haylyn Haycraft, and the final goal was scored by Haylyn Haycraft unassisted. Goaltender Alexis Sundeen had 30 saves on the night.

The Cardinals (14-10-1) await seeding for section play.
