FAIRMONT 78, WORTHINGTON 36

WORTHINGTON – The Fairmont Cardinals (10-3) flew by Worthington 78-36 Friday night in a Big South Conference girls basketball game.

Leading the Cardinals was Brylee Miller with 19 points and nine steals, while Makayla Lowry had 15 points. Bria Williamson had 15 points and Gwyneth Schultz had nine rebounds.

Fairmont heads to Marshall for a 1 p.m. conference game Saturday.

MCW 49, AC/GE 37

ALDEN – The Martin County West Mavericks (14-3) secured their 14th victory of the season over Alden Conger/Glenville-Emmons 49-37 Friday night in a Tomahawk Valley Conference, Valley Division girls basketball game.

Leading the Mavericks was Emily Anderson with 16 points and 14 rebounds, while Addy Wohlhuter had 12 points. Emily Schettler had 6 points and five rebounds, while Courtney Anderson had 5 points and three rebounds.

The Mavericks host Nicollet at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

SPRINGFIELD 49, GHEC/T/ML 45

SPRINGFIELD – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars (6-8) fell to Springfield in a nonconference girls basketball game 49-45 Friday night.

Leading the Jaguars was Madisen Lewis with 15 points, three rebounds and four blocks, while Londyn Bowers had 15 points, five rebounds and three steals. Norah Chase had 5 points, while Kayla Mattson had 4 points.

The Jaguars head to Nicollet at 7 p.m. on Monday.

NORTH UNION 64, NORTH IOWA 27

ARMSTRONG, IA – The North Union Warriors (9-5) cruised by North Iowa in a Top of Iowa Conference girls basketball game Friday night.

Leading the Warriors was Maisey Bierstedt with 20 points and five rebounds, while Ainsley Ulrich had 20 points and three rebounds. Shallie Walders had 10 points and five rebounds, while Avery Walstead had 5 points.

The Warriors head to Forest City at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

MAPLETON – The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers (7-7) defeated Maple River 63-54 Friday night in a nonconference boys basketball game.

Leading the Buccaneers was Will Bromeland with 29 points and six rebounds, while Gage Barker had 20 points and four rebounds. Sully Dahlberg had 9 points and five rebounds, while Jacob Grandgenett had five rebounds.

The Buccaneers head to St. Peter at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
