GYMNASTICS

MAGIC 134.525, ST PETER 128.025

FAIRMONT – The Martin County Area Magic secured a victory over St. Peter 134.25-128.025 Thursday night in a Big South Conference gymnastics meet.

Leading the Magic and securing first place all-around was Lillie Schultz with a 34.95. She was third on bars with a 7.925, fourth on the beam (8.425) and first in the floor exercise (9.3).

Jadyn Montgomery had an all-around score of 34.275 for third place. She was second place on bars with an 8.025, third on beam with an 8.475 and second in the floor exercise with an 8.9.

Fifth place all-around went to Ava Thate with a score of 32.025. She was seventh on bars with a 6.85, fifth on beam (8.2) and fifth in the floor exercise (8.65).

Nola Thedens finished seventh all-around with a 25.40, which included being sixth on beam (8.075) and seventh in the floor exercise (8.375).

Eleventh place all-around went to Adrianna Knafla, who scored a 15.425. She was fourth on the bars (7.825) and seventh on the beam with a 7.6.

The Magic head to Blue Earth at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

PREP WRESTLING

RED BULLS 45, PIPESTONE 30

RED BULLS 47, WORTHINGTON 29

PIPESTONE – The Fairmont/Martin County Area Red Bulls secured victories in both of their duels Thursday night defeating Pipestone 45-30 and Worthington 47-29.

133-pound Pierce Rohman won both of his matches one by pinning Christian Dailey and the other by forfeit, while Brock Stauffer (139 lbs) won his two matches first by forfeit and the second by technical fall over Miguel Moreno. Evan Welcome (145 lbs) won both of his matches by forfeit, while Torrey Paplow (152 lbs) defeated Oliver Sterud by pin and won his second match by forfeit. Maddex Faber (160 lbs) pinned Haden Mulvihill and Dalton Larson, while Ty Kolbe (172 lbs) defeated Lucas Thooft 12-9 and won by forfeit in his second match. Aaron Becker (189 lbs) took one match by forfeit and pinned Brayden Raymo. David Miller (285 lbs) won both of his matches by forfeit.

The Red Bulls head to Jackson County Central at 9 a.m. Saturday for the Varsity Conference tournament.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

MARTIN COUNTY WEST 70, MADELIA 24

MADELIA – The Martin County West Mavericks (11-3) defeated Madelia 70-24 in a Tomahawk Valley Conference, Valley Division game Thursday night.

Leading the Mavericks was Emily Anderson with 21 points and four rebounds, while Courtney Anderson had 12 points and three rebounds. Maddie Carlson had 12 points and six rebounds, while Ida Rohman had 9 points and Avery Sanders had 6 points.

The Mavericks head to Minnesota Valley Lutheran at 12 p.m. Saturday.
