GIRLS HOCKEY

LUVERNE 4, FAIRMONT 2

FAIRMONT – The Fairmont Cardinals (5-4) girls hockey team was defeated by Luverne (7-2) Tuesday night in a Big South Conference girls hockey game 4-2.

Goaltender Alexis Sundeen had 55 saves, while Haylyn Haycraft scored assisted by Mariel Parish. Lauren Bettin scored Fairmont’s second goal of the game assisted by Kynlee Beermer and Alexis Haycraft.

The Cardinals head to Worthington at 7 p.m. Thursday.

BOYS HOCKEY

LUVERNE 9, FAIRMONT 0

LUVERNE – The Fairmont Cardinals boys hockey team (0-9) fell to Luverne (10-2-1) 9-0 in a Big South Conference hockey game Tuesday night.

Fairmont goaltender Brandon Hector saved 47 of 56 shots faced.

The Cardinals host Worthington at 7 p.m. on Friday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

NORTH UNION 51, EAGLE GROVE 50

EAGLE GROVE, IA – The North Union Warriors (3-7) eked out a victory over Eagle Grove (4-5) 51-50 in a Top of Iowa Conference boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Leading the Warriors was Greyson Colegrove with 17 points and six rebounds, while Drew Henderson had 13 points and two rebounds. Lane Bruhn had 12 points and two rebounds, while Khael Jones had 7 points and two rebounds.

The Warriors host Garner Hayfield Ventura at 7:45 p.m. Friday.

BELLE PLAINE 91, BEA 57

BELLE PLAINE – The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers (6-4) fell to Belle Plaine (5-2) 91-57 in a Big South Conference boys basketball game Tuesday night.

Leading the Buccaneers was Will Bromeland with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Sully Dahlberg had 10 points and five rebounds. Branson Hauskins had 8 points, while Gage Barker had 6 points.

The Buccaneers head to Pipestone at 7:30 p.m. Friday.

GHEC/T/ML 64, MLAC 51

COMFREY – The Granada-Huntley East Chain/Truman/Martin Luther Jaguars (5-6) secured a 64-51 over Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey in a Tomahawk Valley Conference, Valley Division basketball game Tuesday night.

Leading the Jaguars was Brody Grathwohl with 14 points, while Bryce Borkenhagen had 13 points. Jackson Madsen had 10 points, while Eli Jensen had 9 points. Griffin Studer had 8 points and Reagan Emmert had 6 points.

The Jaguars will host Loyola at 7 p.m. on Friday.

NORTH UNION 64, EAGLE GROVE 28

EAGLE GROVE, IA – The North Union Warriors (6-5) girls ball team took home a victory over Eagle Grove (1-7) 64-28 in a Top of Iowa Conference Tuesday night.

Leading the Warriors was Ainsley Ulrich with 28 points and four assists, while Shallie Walders had 17 points and six rebounds. Maisey Bierstedt had 11 points and four rebounds, while Ava Steinberger had 4 points and six rebounds.

The Warriors host Garner Hayfield Ventura at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
