Fairmont Peewees secure first win of season

ALBERT LEA – The Fairmont Peewee A’s participated in a tournament in Albert Lea over the weekend securing their first win of the season.

On December 13 they took on Monticello A falling 10-4 the Fairmont squad put 22 shots on goal in the game. Bennett Draper scored three goals and Ryder Thate added a goal, while Emmet Olson added an assist. Goaltender Blakeley Scholl had 61 saves for Fairmont.

In the December 14 match against Delano A, Fairmont fell 8-2. Draper and Levi Anderson scored for the Cardinals, and Thate added an assist.

Also on December 14, Fairmont lost to Appleton 7-1 with their lone goal coming from Draper while Scholl had 46 saves.

On December 15, Fairmont defeated Luverne, securing their first win of the season 14-10, with Scholl saving 28 shots. The first period featured a goal by Bennett Draper that was unassisted, a short-handed goal by Ryder Thate assisted by Eli Meixell and another short-handed goal by Bennett Draper unassisted.

In the second frame of the game Levi Anderson had three goals and Draper added one of their own and Carter Spitzer added two assists.

The third period featured two goals from Draper, Anderson and Thate with assists from Carter Spitzer and Olson for their first win of the year.

12U HOCKEY
