The 6-foot-6 rookie left-hander turned in one of his best outings of his Major League rookie season on Saturday, July 22, by allowing only one earned run on three hits in six innings pitched to earn his second win.
Williamson recorded five strikeouts and issued one walk in the Reds’ 4-2 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
TJ Friedl, Matt McLain and Jake Fraley fueled Williamson’s winning decision by connecting for three consecutive home runs against Arizona during the sixth inning.
