Goldfinch Estates commendable care for residents

To the editor:

Fairmont and surrounding communities, I just had to write this so people of Fairmont realize what they have in respect to Goldfinch Estates.

My sister and I moved our mother into a two bedroom apartment there one month ago. Her apartment is beautiful.

This assisted living facility is top notch.

I stayed with my mom for one month and encountered such kindness from every one of the staff. Also, my puppy was welcome to stay there.

One of many examples: I left my canvas potty pads for my dog and a small bag of my laundry outside of my mom’s door, thinking I would wash them that evening, I forgot. Thinking the staff thought it was garbage, as it was not there in the morning, I decided to go check the laundry area and there it was, washed and dried.

The staff takes care of everything. Medications given to mom when needed, garbage out every day, bedding changed and put on every week along with laundry and brought back, same day apartment cleaned. Also a big plus is a watch type of device that detects falls, the device has a button to push at anytime for any need (not just emergencies) and is answered right away.

If you want to be confident your loved one will get great care, Goldfinch is the place for them.

Oh my gosh, I can’t forget about how delicious the food is. The majority of the food is all homemade and you can sure taste the difference. The dining room is so cheery. If requested, you can also get meals delivered to your apartment. The kitchen staff is wonderful and they call all the residents by name. They are all gems.
