Disagreeing without being disagreeable
There are multiple issues, differences of opinions, conflicts between personalities and different expectations between the parties in the national, state and local governments. Since the national, state and local elections, things seem to be more polarized between the parties in the government and the electorate. Even within our own city council, these same things are evident to the extent that as a citizen of Fairmont, I am embarrassed by the behavior of those representing us. We can and must do better than this. Yes, there will be clashes between personalities, and disagreements on issues, standards and expectations. Can we respectfully listen to what the other side has to say, it goes both ways. Then if we do disagree, can we do it without being disagreeable? Let’s be kind and respectful of each other’s opinions and views.
