Patricia A. Shaikoski

FAIRMONT — Patricia “Pat” Ann Shaikoski, 79, of Fairmont, Minn., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Mankato, Minn. As per her wishes, no services will be held. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Patricia Ann (McMahon) Shaikoski was born on March 29, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the daughter of Leo and Frances (Kerner) McMahon. Soon after, their family moved to Canby, Minn., where Pat grew up and attended school, graduating from Canby High School with the class of 1964.

On May 1, 1965, Pat was united in marriage to Donald Shaikoski at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Canby, Minn. The couple made their home in Fairmont, Minn., and were blessed with two children, Daniel and Deborah.

Pat worked for many years at Woolworths and later for the cable TV company. She then went to work full time, managing the office and working with her husband and son at Don’s Body Shop for 29 years, retiring in 2017.

Pat was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. She was passionate about animals and had a special place in her heart for cats, especially Himalayans and Persians. Her love for animals was evident in her support of the Martin County Humane Society. Growing up in the 50s and 60s, Pat listened and danced to the greats such as Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper. In later years, she enjoyed attending John Mueller’s Winter Dance Party and seeing Bobby Vee and Stingray Anthony in concerts. Pat and her husband Don shared a passion for classic cars and traveling. They attended car shows from the East to West coast in their ’47 Ford “Rusty”. Pat and Don were members of the Flatlanders Car Club in St James, Minn., and joined the Minnesota Street Rod Association in 1974. They joined the MSRA Safety Inspection Team in the 1980s. Pat was an integral part of the coordination of safety team volunteers at the annual MSRA Back to the 50s event. Most importantly, their love for classic cars and adventure brought her many lifelong friendships that she cherished dearly.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Don Shaikoski of Fairmont, Minn.; son, Daniel (DeAnna) Shaikoski of Fairmont, Minn.; daughter, Deborah Moyer of Howard Lake, Minn.; grandson, Justin (Sheila) Shaikoski and four great grandchildren of Blue Earth, Minn.; granddaughter, Emilee Shaikoski of Buffalo, Minn.; brother, Terry (Sue) McMahon, their two children, including her God daughter Kelli McMahon, and four grandchildren, of Coon Rapids, Minn.; a sister-in-law, Tricia McMahon of Montana and her three children; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Frances McMahon; brother, Kenneth McMahon; and a son-in-law, Jason Moyer.

The family requests memorials be left in Patricia’s name to the Martin County Humane Society of Fairmont, Minn.
