Ardyce J. Meyer

FAIRMONT — Services for Ardyce J. Meyer, 88, of Montgomery, Minn., formerly of Fairmont, Minn., will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, Minn.. Burial will be following the service in Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the time of service from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Lakeview Funeral Home. Ardyce passed away Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Traditions of Montgomery in Montgomery, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ardyce Jean (Halstead) Meyer was born on April 22, 1936, in Mankato, Minn., the daughter of Fred and Hazel (Sheldon) Halstead. Ardyce attended school in Waseca and graduated from Central High School. She went on to further her education, attending Mankato State College in Mankato, Minn.

On April 22, 1956, Ardyce was united in marriage to Gerald Gene Meyer in Waseca, Minn.. Together the couple was blessed with six children, Bruce, Debbie, Marna, Keith, Ronda and Laura. The family made their home in Gaylord, Madelia, St. James, and Fairmont where they resided for many years. Following Gerald’s passing in 2015, Ardyce later made the move to New Prague and Montgomery, Minn., to be closer to family.

Ardyce worked at American Western Plastics in Fairmont as Lead Quality Control Manager and later as a cashier at Gunther’s in Fairmont until she retired.

Ardyce was an avid reader and enjoyed her quiet time spent working on crafts and sewing. If there was a flea market in the area, Ardyce could be found there, hunting for a deal on a new treasure. In addition to sewing, Ardyce was an accomplished quilter and found joy in participating in her quilting circle. She was a talented bowler, bowling on the same team for over 25 years and loved the excitement of playing pull tabs. Ardyce took great pride in serving her community and supporting those who served their country and served in her own way as past president of American Legion Post #36 Women’s Auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bruce (Loretta) Meyer of Palm Coast, Fla., Deb (Chris) Kremer of St. Louis, Miss., Marna (Kevin) Halvorson of Cape Coral, Fla., Keith Meyer of Fairmont, Minn., Ronda (Brad) Peyton of North Mankato, Minn., and Laura Tonneson of Montgomery, Minn.; grandchildren, Ryan Meyer, Brandis (Paris) Alves, Brooke (Blaine) Landin, Kelsie (Sean) Coerver, Travis (significant other, Anna) Leu, Angela (Ronnie) Aprea, Tyler (significant other, Hailey) Paskey, Brittany (significant other, Nick) Paskey, William (Jayme) Meyer, James (significant other, Meg) Meyer, Kristina (Ike) Severson, Sarah (Rick) Walters, Jena (Randy) Kauffmann, and Joe Meyer; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Alan (Polly) Halstead; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ardyce was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Hazel Halstead; husband, Gerald Meyer; two brothers, Harold Halstead and Bob Halstead; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Percy

and Milda Meyer; in-laws, Delmar (Martha) Meyer, David Meyer, Marilyn (Harry) Champney, Pat (Russ) Davis and Ronnie Meyer.
