James R. Danielson

FORT WORTH, Texas — James Richard Danielson, 64, of Fort Worth, Texas (formerly of Fairmont, Minn.), passed away in hospice care on Feb. 21, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on April 25 at Lakeview Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the service. Burial will be held following at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Jim was born on June 16, 1960, in St. Paul, Minn., the child of Madalyn Danielson McCaffrey and the late Richard Danielson. He graduated from Fairmont High School in 1978 and then attended Dakota County Technical College to pursue a career in grocery store management. He married Gloria Stover (Filicchia) in 1981, and they moved to Reno, Nev. After they parted ways, Jim returned to Fairmont, where he was actively involved in Fairmont Glows, which added holiday lights to Fairmont Parks. He moved to Minneapolis and worked there until 2011, at which time he moved to Fort Worth.
He loved the milder Texas temperatures and all that it brought, including an extended gardening season and outdoor recreation. However, the Texas sun was strong, and Jim developed skin cancer, which he succumbed to quickly.
As a child, Jim was active in Boy Scouts and 4H. He enjoyed water skiing and snowmobiling on South Silver Lake. Later, Jim was passionate about cooking, tending bees, and raising pygmy goats with his dear friend Yvonne LaMotte in Texas. Jim’s sense of humor was an unforgettable combination of sarcasm and wit. He enjoyed keeping up with current events and always had an opinion on issues. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jim is survived by his mother Madalyn (Danielson) McCaffrey of Aitkin, Minn.; his brother Daniel Danielson (Linda) of Aitkin, Minn.; his twin brother Jeffrey Danielson (Lynn) of Littleton, Colo.; his sister Ann Feitel (Mark) of Two Harbors, Minn.; his brother David Danielson of Farmington, Minn.; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Danielson, and his nephew, Keith Danielson.
