Sharon Pausewang

BLUE EARTH — Sharon Pausewang, 76, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, in Mankato after a stroke. Sharon was a life-long resident of Blue Earth, born Jan. 30, 1949, to Ewald and Ester (Ehrich) Koestler. She was their second to youngest child.
She graduated from Blue Earth Area High School in 1967. She gave birth to her only child, Robert Anderson, in 1971. She married Joe Pausewang in 1981 and remained his happy wife until his death in 2000. She worked as a waitress at Juba’s in Blue Earth for many years and owned her own janitorial company that maintained many Blue Earth facilities such as the hospital, the post office, several churches and local businesses up until her death.
She was an avid crafter, traveling all over southern Minn. to craft fairs with her hand painted dish towels. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Everyone that knew Sharon knew she had a heart of gold. She loved to visit with folks when she had the chance and always brought treats to share with coworkers and friends for her birthday. She remembered to send birthday and anniversary cards for all special dates.
Sharon is survived by her son, Robert “Bob” Anderson and his partner, Amanda, of Rochester, Wash., her granddaughter Isabel (Robert) Hayes, two great grandchildren, Prim and Elliot, of Port Orchard, Wash., sister Marylyn Jones, sister-in-law Lillian (Chuck) Koestler, as well as several great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe, both parents, and four of her siblings.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 17, at Patton Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. A private burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.pattonfh.com.
