Todd Nowak

SHERBURN — Todd Nowak, of Sherburn, Minn., passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 18, 2025. He was born on July 20, 1964, in Fairmont, where he was baptized and confirmed at St. John Vianney Catholic Church and graduated from Fairmont High School in 1983.
During and after high school, Todd worked alongside his father in construction, before becoming an owner-operator, spending the majority of his career driving truck. He later worked for Hawkeye Foods and seasonally for Crystal Valley Coop and Alpha Sand Blasting.
Todd loved the outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or simply enjoying nature. However, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind and humble man, always willing to help anyone–or any animal–that needed it. Known for his strong opinions, sharp wit, and sarcastic personality, he never missed an opportunity for a lively debate–especially about politics with his siblings.
Todd is survived by his Parents, Harold and Joan Nowak, of Fox Lake; daughter Niki Lewis of Granada; son Mitch (Dana) Nowak of Sherburn; daughter Emilie (Cody) Cook of Lake Park; daughter Meg (Tov) Topete and mother of his children Trudy Schwab of Lakefield; sister Linda (Mike) Barutt of Graceville; brother Jon (Karen) Nowak of Pemberton; seven beloved grandbabies; and numerous extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friend Dave Johnson.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Information about this will be noted on Todd’s Facebook page and in the Fairmont Sentinel.
Todd’s warmth, wisdom, and unforgettable personality will be deeply missed but always treasured by those who knew him. His advice will be missed more than words can express.
