Beverly J. Walterman

FAIRMONT — A Celebration of Life Service for Beverly J. Walterman, 87, of Fairmont, Minn. will be held at 2 p.m. on March 8, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Burial will be held at a later date at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on March 8, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Beverly passed away Tuesday morning, Feb. 18, 2025, at the Lakeview Methodist Healthcare Center in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Beverly Jane (Anderson) Walterman was born on Oct. 3, 1937, to Clarence and Arlet (Engeseth) Anderson in Pilot Grove Township, Faribault County, Minn. She was baptized in 1937 and later confirmed in 1952 at Pilot Grove Lutheran Church. She attended country school through 8th Grade and graduated from Elmore High School in 1954.

Beverly was united in marriage to Marlyn J. Walterman on Dec. 10, 1955, in Elmore, Minn. They made their home in Blue Earth, Minn. for one year before moving to Fairmont in 1956. Marlyn and Beverly were blessed with four children, Julienne, Katherine, Pamela and Michael. Beverly worked in the Martin and Faribault County Courthouse as a Deputy Court Administrator for thirty-two years, retiring in May 1995.

Beverly was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont and a member of Circle. She was also a 4-H leader while her children were growing up. Beverly enjoyed reading, visiting with friends, playing cards, camping, and earlier in life roller skating. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of sixty-nine years, Marlyn Walterman of Fairmont, Minn.; four children, Julienne (Scott) Schumacher of Janesville, Minn., Katherine (David) Moeller of Fairmont, Minn., Pamela Wedel of Fairmont, Minn. and Michael Walterman of Blue Earth, Minn.; six grandchildren, Jared (Sarah) Wedel, Justin Wedel, Ryan (Shawna) Schumacher, Sara (Kadie Petron) Schumacher, Dereck Walterman and Ashley (Seth Wallen) Walterman; six great-grandchildren, Zaelee Walterman, Lyla Wedel, Wyatt Wedel, Coen Wallen, Dax Wallen and Eleanor Rae Schumacher; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Arlet Anderson; grandparents, Gust and Sarah Anderson and Erick and Elizabeth Engeseth; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Anna Walterman.
