James U. Fortuna
HOPKINS — James “Jim” Fortuna, 72, of Hopkins, Minn., returned to the stars on Jan. 28, 2025, embraced by his daughter Summer. A self-described Cosmic Vagabond, James was an artist in every sense of the word. His talents as a stained-glass artist, painter, and graphic designer were matched only by his quiet and unique perspective on the world. His creations, imbued with his passion for truth, love, and light, will continue to inspire those who encounter them. James was preceded in death by his father, Aldo Fortuna; his brother, Franco Fortuna; his mother, Rosemarie Patterson (Hoehne); and his beloved stepfather, Gordon Patterson. He is survived by his daughter Summer (Bryan) Nohrenberg and grandson Joseph Nohrenberg of New Hope, Minn.; grandson Mitchell (Allison) Johnson; great-granddaughter Rosland “Rosie” Johnson of Wadena, Minn.; his dear feline companion Miccio; and a group of cherished friends who will forever hold his memory close. James’ legacy of kindness, creativity, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember James.
