BLUE EARTH — It is with both sadness and joy that we announce the passing of Allen Dean Maloney, a beloved husband, friend, and vibrant member of the Blue Earth community. Al left us on Jan. 21, 2025, with his loving family by his side, leaving a legacy of love, laughter, and a generous spirit. Born on May 6, 1951, in Fairmont, Minn., to Ronald and Margie (Hamilton) Maloney, Al graduated from Madelia High School in 1970 and served with pride in the Army National Guard for six years. After working alongside his father at Ron’s Electric Motor Repair, he proudly took over the family business, continuing a legacy built on hard work and dedication. His commitment to his craft was matched only by his unwavering love for his wife, Janet. Together, they cherished their mornings at Perkins, enjoyed leisurely motorcycle rides, and created countless memories with family and friends. An Irishman at heart, Al was equally passionate about his country, serving as the Legion Commander for a short time but a long-time member. His big heart and charitable nature shone through in his support of various local charities, school functions and clubs. He was a man of strong faith, but also a jokester, filling every room he entered with laughter and stories that could hold anyone’s attention. There was never a dull moment with Al around!
