Randy L. Martinson
FAIRMONT — Memorial Service for Randy L. “Champ” Martinson, 70, of Fairmont, Minn., will be at 4 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 17, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont with visitation one hour prior to the service. Randy passed away on Saturday evening, Jan. 11, 2025, at his home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Randy Lee Martinson was born on Nov. 27, 1954, in Faribault, Minn. He was the son of Oliver and Edith (Koch) Martinson and attended Fairmont Public Schools.
Randy delivered bread before owning and operating Edie’s Restaurant for 12 years in Fairmont. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. During his free time, Randy enjoyed going up north for fishing trips as well as going to casinos.
Left to cherish his memory include his long-time love, Norma Conn of Fairmont, Minn.; children, Christine Martinson (Manny Gamboa) of Welcome, Minn., Matthew Martinson of Fairmont, Minn., Jennifer Martinson of Fairmont, Minn., and Travis (Rebekah) Petersen of Algona, Iowa; stepchildren, Daniel Conn of Fairmont, Minn., Dalton (Kaitlin) Martinson of Fairmont, Minn., and Chelsey Conn of Fairmont, Minn.; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Patricia (Byron) Bliesmer of Fairmont, Minn., and Dee Dee (Gary) Terhark of Sioux City, Iowa; brother, Larry (Jane) Martinson of Blairsville, Ga.; niece, Heather (Chuck) Harris of Fairmont, Minn.; and nephew, Chad (Dara) Bliesmer of Fairmont, Minn.; other relatives and friends.
Along with his parents, Oliver and Edith Martinson, Randy was preceded in death by his sister, Linda; brother, Ron; niece, Erica; and aunts and uncles.
