Lila Crosby
WINNEBAGO — Lila Crosby, 88, passed away Dec. 31, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family. Services for Lila will be on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at Lutheran Church or Our Saviors in Winnebago, at 11 a.m. A time for visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, at Spencer Owen Funeral Home.
Lila was born March 11, 1936, in Truman, Minn., to Leslie and Lela Canon. She attended Truman Public Schools, graduating in 1953. She was united in marriage to Wayne Crosby on Oct. 1, 1960. Lila and Wayne (Bing) lived in Winnebago, Minn. where they raised their five children. Throughout her life, she worked as a secretary at Interstate Power Co. and then owned and managed Crosby Oil Company with Wayne. She was a member of the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, and along with Wayne, was inducted into the Winnebago Hall of Fame in 2017.
Lila had a great love for her husband, for whom she cared as his health declined, until his passing in Jan. of 2019. Also important to her were her family, faith, and friends.
Lila was also preceded in death by her parents, infant son Ronald, brother George Canon, sister Evelyn Krause, infant grandson Brian, and daughter-in-law Mary Crosby.
Lila is survived by her children Cindy (Paul) Slama of Mankato, Tim (Kelly Belgard) of Delavan, Kimberly Dorsett of Minneapolis, Tom (Lisa) Crosby of Sherburn, and Lesley (Tim) Gambeski of Cambridge; twelve grandchildren- Kevin (Brooke) Slama, Jennifer (Adam) Weisbrod, Michael (Lindsay)Slama, Nathan Slama, Cathy (Travis) Dahl, Amy Crosby, Matt (Kinsey) Crosby, Avery (Jessalyn) Dorsett, Preston Dorsett, Blake (Amy) Crosby, Payten (Paige) Crosby, Tyson Crosby; and seventeen great-grandchildren-Carter, Ava, Annalee, Davis, Caelum, Juliette, Lincoln, Cameron, Charlie, Finnegan, Owen, Monte, Reo, Crue, Everlee, Watson, Waylon.
