David M. Nutt
FAIRMONT — Memorial Service for David M. Nutt, 61, of Fairmont, Minn. will be at noon., Jan. 6, at St. John’s United Church of Christ in Fairmont. Visitation will be held on Jan. 6, at the church from 11 a.m. to noon. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in East Chain, Minn. David passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at United Hospital District in Blue Earth, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
David Michael was born on Nov. 9, 1963, to Gerald and Mary (Heutinck) Nutt in Fairmont, Minn. Growing up, he attended school in Fairmont and graduated from Fairmont High School. Following his high school graduation, he worked various jobs including being a cook at Villager and Happy Chef, working in construction for hog barns, at the Bowling Alley as well as Agco. David also traveled around the state of Minn. and surrounding states as a decorator for Holiday Inn hotels. Most recently David worked for Step, Inc. and at the Jackson and Fairmont racetracks.
David was a faithful member of St. John’s United Church of Christ where he served as an usher. He was also active in the Eagle’s Club. David was a racing enthusiast. He would travel to area dirt racetracks and race, his first race being while he was in high school. Some of his favorite places to race included Fairmont, Jackson, Algona, and Webster City. He even would travel to tracks in Nebraska and Arkansas. He won many features in his racing career and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in both Fairmont and Algona. He was an avid bowler, receiving many awards. He looked forward to being able to dog-sit his friend’s dog, Zoe, as often as possible. Ultimately his family meant the world to him, cherishing time spent together, making lasting memories.
Left to cherish his memory include his father, Gerald Nutt; sister, Carol (Frank Rezac) Konradi; brother, Jim (Bert) Konradi; special cousin, Jody Jordan; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special friends: Kimberly, Jill and Trevor; other extended family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Nutt; brother, Shorty Konradi; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
