Valeria “Larrie” Mae Evans was born to Merle and Agnes (Larson) Evans at their home on Aug.10, 1937 in Lake Crystal, Minn. Baptized by Reverend Thompson at her grandparents (Larson) home in Blue Earth, Minn. She attended kindergarten in Lake Crystal, Minn. They moved to Sherburn, Minn. where Larrie was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn in 1951 and graduated from Sherburn High School in 1955.

On Aug. 11, 1957, she was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Wendell Holm at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, Minn. They moved to a farm north of Dunnell, Minn. where they enjoyed 58 years of marriage together until Wendell’s passing in 2016. Her wishes were fulfilled by getting to stay on the farm until her death. Besides raising five children, Larrie worked at the local dentist, Glasstite, Blum’s candy factory, and finally the Highway 4 store.

Their marriage was blessed with five children, a daughter, Wendy (Duane) Whisney; and 4 sons, Terry (Lynn) Holm, Tim (Tammy) Holm, Kevin (Dee) Holm, and Jeff (Kelly) Holm who all have survived her. She has 13 grandchildren; Breanna (Justin) Shult, Chris (friend Liz) Whisney, Rachel (fiancé James) Whisney, Nate (Katy) Holm, Noah Holm, Kaleb Holm, Justin (friend Katelin) Holm, Nick (Jordan) Holm, Matt (friend Rachel) Holm, Alex Holm, Sammy Holm, Taylor Holm, and Austin Holm. She was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Kinsley Shult, Brayden Shult, Miller Holm, and Odin Holm. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Paul (Rita) Holm, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Holm, her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Ed and Laura Holm, brother Bill Evans, sisters Sue Boesch and Nancy Knapp, sister-in-law, Lyla Evans, and grandsons, Jacob & Tanner Holm.

Family was the most important thing to Larrie. She was well known for her Sunday chicken dinners to share with those she loved. She enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, and spending time with friends and family. Larrie was a very caring, loving person with a strong faith and connection with God. She will be greatly missed.
