Dale was born on Oct. 2, 1959 to Reinhard and Elaine (Moeller) in Fairmont. Born with mental and physical handicaps, Dale never let that get him down. He attended the Day Activity Center until the Special Education Class was started in the Fairmont School System and graduated with the class of 1981. Because of his health, he remained at home and helped his mother care for the 35 foster children who came into his life. He was a gentle, pleasant, and patient person and enjoyed helping out when he could. He loved to go along shopping and then to Dairy Queen for a snack. He was a lifelong member of Zion Lutheran Church where he was baptized by Rev. C. Josting, he faithfully attended Sunday School and looked forward to greeting his church family by reminding them of the month, date, and time and knew them all by name. He loved his family dearly and was a diehard Minn. Twins fan.
Left to cherish his memory are his siblings; Lonny (Jeanne) of Fairmont, Maureen (Kyle) Balzly of Green River, Wyo. and sister-in-law Carol Schwieger of Fairmont, nephews; Darren (Michelle) Schwieger, Dean (April) Schwieger, Derek (Lynn) Schwieger, Ryan (Margaret) Schwieger and Reid (Jenny) Schwieger as well as several great nieces and nephews and other extended family.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Doyle.
Dale’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the COR caretakers and STEP staff who were like family to Dale. The care he received and the friendships he made will not be forgotten.
