Janice L. Carson
VERDI — It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Janice Lee Carson of Verdi, Minn. formerly of Fairmont and Armstrong, on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2024, at the age of 86. Please join us for visitation at the Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7, Service will follow directly after at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Armstrong Grove Cemetery.
Janice was born on March 20, 1938, in Algona, Iowa to Emma (Lieb) and Arnold Meine, the youngest of four children. She attended Immanuel Church and School in Lotts Creek and then later graduated from Algona High School.
Soon after, Janice met William Loss, and they married on Feb. 3, 1955. Bill and Janice purchased farmland near Fenton, Iowa, where they raised their only child, Kelly Bryant. After seventeen years, their marriage ended. Janice then married W.A. Carson. They were happily married for nearly forty years until his tragic passing in 2011.
Janice loved traveling across the country, spending the winter months in warmer climates, visiting her daughter and grandchildren in San Diego and later in Phoenix. She was a firecracker, small with a large presence. She loved telling jokes and had a sarcastic, quick wit. You could find her on the dance floor, cold beer in hand, or spending time in her garden, simply enjoying life in the present. Jan’s late husband, Tubby, liked to say, “I got me a good woman!”, and he was right.
Janice will be greatly missed by her daughter, Kelly Bryant, her grandchildren, Tiffany Grant and James Bryant, and her great-granddaughter, Isabelle Grant-Geddie, as well as many close friends and family members.
Janice was preceded in death by husband Tubby, parents Emma and Arnold, brothers Robert and Dean, and sister Ruth. www.henryolsonfuneral.com.
