WINNEBAGO — Betty Jean Lux, 100, formerly of Winnebago, Minn., passed away at St. Anne’s Extended Healthcare in Winona, Minn. on Nov. 15, 2024. Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 25, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. with a funeral at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago. Burial will be at Rice Lake Cemetery, Delavan. Minn..
Betty was born November 12, 1924, to Ethel (Miner) and Core Hegwood at Winnebago, Minn.. In 1942 she graduated from Winnebago High School. She went to business school in Mankato, Minn., and worked at the Winnebago Creamery. She married Ralph Lux on Jan. 19, 1947, in Winnebago. They lived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, until 1950 when they moved back to the Winnebago area. They farmed outside Winnebago until retirement in 1987. She enjoyed gardening, music, fishing trips in northern Minnesota, and spending retirement winters in southern Texas. Betty was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Winnebago and active in the American Legion Auxiliary in Winnebago
She is survived by two daughters, Peggy (Scott) Erickson of Trempealeau, Wis., and Nancy (Gary) Wadas of Fort Collins, Colo., eight grandchildren (Jason, Jennifer, Samantha, Megan, Jeffrey, Todd, Sarah, and Michelle), and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband (Ralph Lux), daughter (Carol Harding), and brother (James Hegwood).
