A private family burial will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont. Kathy passed away on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 10, 2024, at her home in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home & Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.
Kathleen “Kathy” Sue (Anderson) Heuer was born on March 25, 1954, to Merrill and Katherine (Cassity) Anderson in Rockford, Illi. She graduated from Guilford High School in Rockford, Illi. and then graduated from Trinity College in Deerfield, Illi.
Kathy was united in marriage to John Heuer on June 19, 1982, in Turlock, Calif. This marriage was blessed with four children, Sarah, Simon, Ian, and Ryan. Kathy and John spent a few years in Minnesota, California, Idaho, and Wisconsin with John’s jobs but have called Fairmont, Minn. home since 2002. Kathy worked as an elementary school teacher from 1980 to 1984, before becoming a full-time stay-at-home Mom doing what she loved best. Kathy was a member of Bethel Evangelical Free Church in Fairmont where she served as a Deaconess, Sunday school teacher, and was on the Women’s Ministry Team. She was also involved in Community Bible Study as Teaching Director.
Kathy was a loving, caring wife who unconditionally loved me, her husband, and only saw the best in me every day we were married. Kathy was a loving, nurturing mother who enjoyed every aspect of caring for her children and helping them blossom into the amazing adults they came to be. Kathy loved her grandchildren, loved to bake them “Grammie Buns” and was known for saying FaceTime is good, but sometimes I need a hug. Kathy was blessed with the ability to encourage those around her and compliment everyone she encountered. Kathy loved life and people and if you were ever around her, you likely felt that love. Kathy loved reading her bible and even when she could no longer read, she wanted me to read it to her. But more than anything, Kathy loved Jesus Christ and eagerly shared her love for her Savior with those she met. Kathy led a life full of joy and happiness and did her best to bring that joy and happiness to everyone around her. In I Timothy 1:5, the apostle Paul encourages people to“…have a clear conscience, a pure heart and genuine faith.” That is the life Kathy lived, and she will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of forty-two years, John Heuer of Fairmont, Minn.; children, Sarah (Peter) Lansky of Minneapolis, Minn., Simon (Kate) Heuer of Burbank, Calif., Ian (Menglu Xiao) of Irvine, Calif. and Ryan (Mykala) Heuer of Maple Grove, Minn.; six grandchildren, Jack, Betty, Os, Winnie, and Remco Heuer and Violet Heuer; brothers, Jim (Laura) Anderson of Yuba City, Calif. and Tim (Betsy) Anderson of Rockford, Illi.; mother-in-law, Shirley Heuer of Turlock, Calif.; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Merrill and Katherine Anderson; father-in-law, Jack Heuer; and brother-in-law, Marty Silva.
