Beverly Munsterman
EAST CHAIN — Beverly “Bev” Munsterman, lifelong resident of Martin County, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, at Lakeview Methodist Health Care Center in Fairmont. A celebration of life will be held 3 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, with visitation prior to the service from 1-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Beverly Ann Barke was born Feb. 22, 1938, to Walter and Viola (Personius) Barke at the family farm in rural Fairmont. She attended country school and graduated from East Chain High School in 1955. She attended Mankato State University before working for Northwestern Bank in Minneapolis, Minn. On Jan. 26, 1958, she married Eldon Henry Munsterman of St. James, Minn. They returned to Martin County, where they raised four children, Terri, Marla, Lorie and Dan. Bev worked at Railway Motors and Amdevco in Fairmont, retiring in 1983 when she and Eldon moved to East Chain.
More than anything else, Bev loved being a grandma and great-grandma. When she wasn’t making memories with her grand and great grandkids, she could be found outside gardening and watching birds.
She was preceded in death by husband, Eldon; daughter, Terri Cleppe; parents, Walter and Viola Barke; parents-in-law, Edward and Marie Munsterman; brothers, Walter “Bud” and Terry “Butch” Barke; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, several nieces and nephews.
Surviving Beverly are Marla (Bill) Wood of Junction City, Kan., Lorie (Sean) Lenz of Northfield, Minn., Dan (Lana) Munsterman of Fairmont; grandchildren, Nikki Wood, Melissa (Matt) Demers, Andy (Sunday) Lenz, Alex (Mariah) Cleppe, Kate Lenz, Sam (Austin) Roush, Tyler Munsterman and Kyle Munsterman; great-grandchildren, Mackenna, Amyah, Autumn, Layla, Connor and Kaison; son-in-law, Charlie Cleppe; sisters-in-law, Kathi Barke, Lorraine, Barb and Marsha Munsterman; brothers-in-law, Lyle and Jerry (Vonnie) Munsterman; many nieces and nephews. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
