FAIRMONT — Mass of Christian Burial for Anita M. Duffey, 68, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Burial will follow the service in Calvary Cemetery, Fairmont. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2024, at the Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont.

Anita passed away Friday, July 26, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato, Minn. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anita Marie (Gilman) Duffey was born Aug. 12, 1955, in Fairmont, Minn., the daughter of George W. and Dorothy I. (Bone) Gilman. Anita grew up in Granada where she began her education. Following a move to Fairmont, Anita furthered her education at the Fairmont Public Schools where she graduated from Fairmont High School with the class of 1974.

On Oct. 22, 1977, Anita was united in marriage to Terry Duffey at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Together the couple made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with one son, Jason.

Anita worked many various jobs throughout her career but truly enjoyed her time working for the Fairmont Area School System. She enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and she looked forward to class reunions and catching up with her many friends.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Terry Duffey; son, Jason (Katie) Duffey; grandchildren, Jordan, Bentley, Taber (Michayla), Josh, Dalen, Ava and Adelle; mother-in-law, Donna Duffey; two brothers-in-law, Tom (Margery) Duffey and Bob (Barb) Duffey; sister-in-law, Trisha Duffey; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Anita was preceded in death by her father, George Gilman; mother, Dorothy (Gilman) Pitlick; stepfather, Boyd Pitlick; a sister and her husband, Nancy (John) Krueger; and father-in-law, Robert E. Duffey. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
