Darlene Pilcher
BLUE EARTH — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darlene Rae Pilcher, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Darlene’s journey began on June 16, 1927, and sadly reached its end on Saturday, June 15, 2024, just one day shy of her 97th birthday.
A funeral service for Darlene will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday June 25, at Faith Lutheran Brethren Church with Rev. Brent Walker officiating. Burial will take place at East Chain Lutheran Cemetery. Darlene was born in Poplar, Wis., to Raymond and Gladys (Peterson) Hall. She graduated from East Chain in 1945 and on Dec. 28, 1945, she married her soulmate, Duane Marc Pilcher. They made their home in East Chain until moving to Blue Earth in 1967. A respected member of the Blue Earth community, Darlene made her mark through her work at Aero-Space, the Etta C. Ross Library, Blue Earth State Bank, and AAL/Thrivent Insurance. She dedicated herself to her roles, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Throughout her life, Darlene exemplified compassion and kindness, always extending a helping hand to those in need. She dedicated herself to nurturing her family and those around her, leaving a legacy of love and care that will endure for generations to come.
Darlene leaves behind a cherished family, including her devoted children: Pamela (Frank) Lawatsch, Virgil (Sue) Pilcher, Steven (Janine) Pilcher and Marc (Diane) Pilcher. She was a loving grandmother to Eric (Kristin) Lawatsch, Christopher (Robyn) Lawatsch, Aaron (Lauren) Pilcher, Luke Pilcher, Kristalynn (Nick) Pilcher Morris, Daniele (Tim) Pilcher Olsen, Arlette (Ryan) Pilcher Dutton, Stephanie (Ryan) Pilcher Smith, Bradley (Anna) Pilcher, Joshua (Laura) Pilcher, Dustin (Nina) Pilcher and her 42 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. Sister-in-law, Val Hall; cousin, Wendell Owens; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Raymond Hall; grandson, Luke Pilcher; her siblings, Ronnie Hall, Dennis Hall, Wanda (James) Larson and Glennys Hall; parents-in-law, Mabel and Ernest Pilcher. She held dear memories of her marriage to Duane, with whom she shared 65 beautiful years before his passing in 2010.
As we gather to remember and honor Darlene’s life, let us be comforted by the memories we hold dear and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Darlene’s kindness and generosity will remain etched in our hearts forever, guiding us in times of joy and sorrow. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
