Nannette R. Leach
FAIRMONT — It is with great sadness that the family of Nannette Leach (Gagnon), 91, of Fairmont, Minn., announces her passing from this life into the presence of God to be with family and friends in heaven. We know she is with her Heavenly Father and will experience everlasting joy. Mass of Christian burial for Nannette will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, with burial following the service in Calvary Cemetery, Fairmont. A private visitation will be held at Lakeview Funeral Home. A public visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
Nannette Rosalie Leach (Gagnon) was born Aug. 19, 1931, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Leo Joseph Gagnon and Jeanette Beatrice (Jellum) Gagnon. After the loss of her mother, the Gagnon family moved to Minneapolis, Minn. in 1938. Nannette attended Basilica grade school in Minneapolis, Ville Marie Academy in Fond du Lac, Minn., then graduated from Hennepin County Vocational School in Minneapolis with a degree as a seamstress. Nannette married her high school sweetheart, Clayton R. Leach, on Aug. 12, 1950, in Hudson, Wis. The couple moved to Alabama for two years while her husband was in the military, and then moved to St. Louis Park, Minn. in 1953. Clayton and Nannette lived in St. Louis Park for 16 years, raising their seven children and then moved the family to Fairmont, Minn. in 1969. While in Fairmont they began their family business, Redi Haul Trailers, and became a prominent member of the community. She was a member of St. John Vianney Church and a longtime member of Interlaken Golf Club where she met several of her lifelong friends. She enjoyed her card clubs, golfing, fishing, crafts, sewing, cooking, singing, and dancing. Nannette was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Auxiliary. Nannette cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Clayton and Nannette traveled the country to find their retirement destination in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Again, they met long lasting friends, joined RV clubs, traveled and were members of the Legion Club, Elk Club and the Eagles Club. They spent many days boating with friends on the Colorado River. Nannette passed away peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022, at home with her children by her side. The love she had for her children will always and forever be a blessing to them all. She was a woman of her word, of kindness, of peace, of comfort, of integrity and most of all love. She will be missed by so many including her children, Jeanine (Russ) Bussman, Duane (Janice) Leach, Eugene (Jan) Leach, Jackie Trembley, Shirley Cox, Sharon (Lou) Chavez and daughter-in-law, Linda Leach; grandchildren, Chad (Judy) Johnson, Jared (Beth) Johnson, Margaux (Chad) Askeland, Jon Leach, Brian (Jeaneen) Leach, Lynn Hughes, Adam Leach, Eric Leach, April (Robert) Jones, Andrew Leach, Josh (Mandy) Trembley, Kristina Trembley, Julia Chavez, Abigaile Chavez; 15 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. Nan was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-eight years, Clayton Leach; parents, Joseph and Jeanette Gagnon; brother, Donald Gagnon; son, Glenn Leach; grandson, Nathan Leach; great-granddaughter Majesta Hajder. The family requests that donations be made in Nannette’s name to hospice organizations serving the Fairmont area.
