William “Bill” Charles Becker was born March 2, 1945, in Fairmont, Minn., the son of Oscar and Rica (Deiling) Becker. He grew up in Truman and received his education attending Truman Public School.

Bill always had a passion for fixing things and loved agriculture so following his graduation from high school, he began working as a mechanic for Case IH & Rabe International where he worked until his retirement in May 2010. On Aug. 24, 1968, Bill was united in marriage to Gloria Fischer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Together the couple made their home in Fairmont and were blessed with two children, Jason and Kim. Bill took great joy in helping others, whether fixing a tractor to get it back, working for a busy farmer at harvest or assisting a friend in need with a project, Bill was always up for the task and had a smile on his face. He enjoyed tinkering on small engines and cherished drives in the country checking out fieldwork happening and talking with farmers. Bill looked forward to the cold winters of Minnesota and the opportunity to try his luck on the frozen lakes of the area by drilling holes and dropping in a line in the hopes of catching the next big one. He treasured the many memories made with family and friends camping and hunting. He loved playing with his pug, JoJo, and spending time with his grandchildren. Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Gloria Becker; son, Jason Becker and significant other, Becky Schmidtke; daughter, Kimberly White and significant other, Nick Rudolph; grandchildren, Abbiegail White, Gabriella Rudolph, and Teya Schmidtke; sister, Betty (Richard) Wiederhoeft; brother, Richard (Buzzy) Becker; brother-in-law, Marvin Fischer; sister-in-law, Diane (Dan) Wilcox; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by baby boy Becker; his parents, Oscar and Rica Becker; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clarence and Dorothy Fischer; two brothers-in-law, Stanley Fischer and Richard Fischer; and his wife, Valerie. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
