Steven Gordon Goodell

CALEDON VILLAGE, Ontario, Canada — If you are reading this then that means that I, on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, have moved along…“passing away” never did sit well with me. My tourist travel visa has expired and I’m profoundly saddened by the loss of my travel partners, Deb and Victoria. My cremation has already taken place.

I was born Oct. 13, 1954, the son of Richard and Marilyn Goodell in Duluth, Minn. I graduated class of 1973 from Fairmont High School, attended SMSU for two years, MSU for one year, and graduated JAVTI (Jackson, Minn.) in sales and marketing. I spent the next 25 years selling custom flexible packaging in the Midwest. In 2006, I moved to Canada and married everything I ever wanted, and then some in 2008.

Steve is survived by his wife, Deb; stepdaughter, Victoria; daughter, Erin Farland (Ryan); sons, Michael (Brittney), Brent and Christopher; granddaughter, Kayla Farland; grandson, Wyatt Farland; his sister, Jo Goodell-Holmes; nephew, Greg Holmes (Elsa); niece, Charito Teagarden (Joshua); and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David; brother-in-law, Alan Goodell-Holmes; and his grandparents. A celebration of life will be held at a later date at St. John’s UCC in Fairmont, Minn. A church donation consideration would be greatly appreciated as St. John’s was my foundation for my faith. A committal service will also be held at a future date at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. I’m on my way knowing our paths will meet again. Thank you Fairmont for everything you have given me. Amen..Amen..Amen.. Steve
