Patricia Mary (Beckmann) Kneeland was born Aug. 17, 1938, in Springfield, Minn., the daughter of Cecil and Blanche (Clark) Beckmann. She graduated from Fairmont High School in 1956. On June 7, 1957, Patricia was united in marriage to Ronald Kneeland at the Fairmont United Methodist Church. This union was blessed with three sons, Dan, Tom, and Doug. The couple resided in Illinois while Ron was stationed there in the service. They later moved to Lewisville, Minn. and St. James, Minn., before moving to a farm near Truman, Minn. Patricia and Ron shared 32 years together before Ron passed away on Feb. 12, 1989. Patricia worked as a grocery clerk at Paul’s Grocery and later at Carol’s Grocery, both in Truman. She also worked very hard with farm chores, raising hogs on two farmsteads. More recently she worked cleaning at the Fairmont Hospital for 10 years. Patricia was most known for working as a crossing guard for the Fairmont schools. She loved her corner kids. Patricia was a member of the Christian Church in Fairmont. She loved the time she was able to spend at the church and could often be found greeting attendees even when it wasn’t her turn to be a greeter. During her free time, Patricia enjoyed crossword puzzles, going to rummage sales and thrift stores, and watching Minnesota sports including the Gophers, Twins, and Vikings. She most loved the time she was able to spend attending her children’s and later her grandchildren’s sporting events. She was even awarded a plaque for being the #1 Truman Track Fan.
