David R. Lenort
FAIRMONT — Mass of Christian Burial for David R. Lenort, age 94, of Fairmont, Minn., will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain. Burial will be in Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery, East Chain. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, at Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. David passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 3, 2022, at Goldfinch Estates in Fairmont. Lakeview Funeral Home in Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
David Robert Lenort was born Feb. 25, 1928, to John A. and Frances (Hytry) Lenort in Silver Lake Township, Martin County, Minn. He received his education from Country School District 125. David was united in marriage to Evelyn Gieseke on April 19, 1952, in East Chain. David and Evelyn lived in Silver Lake Township on the Lenort family farm until moving to their new home in East Chain in 1987. David farmed throughout his life and raised cattle and hogs. He loved to be outside and in his garden. David also enjoyed going for coffee at Perkins and visiting with family and friends. He was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church in East Chain. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughters, Sue (Gene) Goerndt, Pam (Dwight) Hansen, and Deb (Brian) Hartwig; grandchildren, Carrie (Mark) Westcott, Jarrod (Sommer) Goerndt, Derek (Kaylene) Goerndt, Azure Hansen, Dylan Hansen, Ariel (Gus) Cole, and Josh Hartwig; great-grandchildren, Alyssa (Ben) and Andrea Westcott, Nolyn and Alyvia Goerndt and Camryn and Mya Goerndt; step-great-grandchildren, Sean and Jenneh Cole; sisters-in-law, Ruthie Lenort and Dorothy Stewart; brothers-in-law, Merle Gieseke, Carl Sepmeyer and Gerald Anders; many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Lenort; infant sons, Michael and James; son, Douglas Lenort; granddaughter, Taylor Hartwig; brothers, Felix, Dominick, Matthew and Gregory; sisters, Genevieve, Dorothy, Mathida, Albina and Heldora; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Agnus, Marie, Viola, June, Marion, Bob, Norman, Charlie, Fred, Virgil and Don. www.lakeviewfuneralhome.net
