CEYLON — Today, April 12, is the big day in Ceylon, the Community Day Auction and City-wide Rummage Sales day. Please respect private property and obey the speed limit and pedestrian safety with cars and four-wheelers. Thank you.

Tuesday Coffee Hours will continue from 8:30 to 10 a.m. in April at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Join friends and neighbors for coffee, goodies, and fellowship.

There are three more Tuesdays in April. Trinity Lutheran in Welcome will host the Tuesday coffee hours in May. If any other Circle of Faith ladies want to help serve and/or make goodies, contact Carolyn Strausser at (507) 848-5761.

A CREST-sponsored Lunch and Learn program will be at 11 a.m. on April 16 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont, followed by a lunch. These educational and fun programs are free to any senior citizen in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free-will donation for the lunch.

The American Red Cross Blood Drives continue on April 14 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn (south of I-90), April 14 at the Martin Luther High School in Northrop, and April 18 at the American Legion Hall in downtown Fairmont. Easter is on April 20. Area churches have special services planned for that day and the week before Easter, known as Holy Week. The Circle of Faith Parishes will have joint services for all four parishes at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday at Waverly Lutheran Church (north of Welcome) and at 7 p.m. on Good Friday at St. Peter Lutheran in Ceylon. Their joint Easter Service will be at 9 a.m. First Lutheran Church in Trimont. St. Peter is collecting donations for the Heaven’s Table Food Shelf during April. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have Maundy Thursday Services at 6:30 p.m. with communion and at 6:30 p.m. on Good Friday. The Easter service is scheduled for 8 a.m. on Sunday, April 20, with communion and a breakfast following the service. Their partner congregation at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn has 7 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. services on Easter Sunday with a breakfast between the services from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Area residents are welcome to join any of these congregations’ services.
