Blood Drive at TPS on April 9

TRUMAN — Friday is the deadline to order your “swing for a cure” shirt, which is the Jaguars’ Strike Out Cancer 2025 theme. Shirts may be ordered by visiting the website:  www.companycasuals.com/strikeoutcancer.  They have t-shirts, hoodies, and crew neck sweatshirts in black or white. Pre-ordered shirts will be delivered the week before the event.  Shirts will not be available on the day of the event. A huge silent auction is featured during the games. Any item or certificate donations are appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at Truman Schools or Elizabeth Chevrolet during business hours or picked up by a committee member.

The Truman Firemen’s Fundraising Breakfast will be from 9 am to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Truman Fire Hall. It’s going to be good! They will serve pancakes, scrambled or Denver-style eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, coffee, milk, or juice. Dine-in or carryout are available. Free-will donations will be accepted. Proceeds will go to the fire equipment fund.

Do you realize that it is important for our firefighters, ambulance crews and police to identify your home in an emergency? Please check your house number. If you don’t have one, please get one.

The date of the Active Living Group meeting has changed. It will be at 10 a.m. on April 15 at the Truman Museum, instead of April 8.

The Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. You are welcome to attend these meetings.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church welcomes you to join them for their mid-week Wednesday Lenten service with 10 a.m. chapel and 6 p.m. Lenten service.

Trinity Lutheran Church youth will serve tacos in a bag, fruit, and bars from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a free-will donation. The Lenten Worship service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The public is welcome.

The GIFT kids at Trinity are raising money to help with swimming pool expenses. They encourage everyone–individuals and businesses–to help them. The deadline has been extended to May 7 due to weather cancellations and spring break, which prohibited them from meeting. Contributions can be dropped off at City Hall or the school office. Everyone is welcome to stop at Trinity with a donation from 2:30 to 5 p.m. on April 16 or May 7.

There are still raised garden plots available in the Community Garden behind the school. If you are interested in reserving a garden plot, call (507) 236-4433 and let Pat know.

For the second year, Martin County Libraries will offer a seed library to assist those who want to plant. Anyone with a library card can choose five seed packs. A variety of flowers and vegetable seeds are available. While they are ‘checked out’, nothing needs to be returned to the library.
