Upcoming events at Lake Belt bar
CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have worship at 5:30 today with communion. They also have a Bible Study at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesdays. Area residents are welcome.
The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have a special Girls’ Night Out event at 4 p.m. today called Paint and Sip. A trivia night about the television show, “The Office” will be at 7:30 p.m. on March 21. Game Races will be on March 22. Adult Prom will be on March 29 with DJ Rob. Check out their Facebook posts.
The Ceylon Community Day Auction and Rummage Sales will be held on April 12 this year. Machinery may be consigned from 8 a.m. To 5 p.m. from April 3 to April 10. No household items. The Rummage Sale listing and map will be available that day at the auctioneer’s bus and the post office. During Community Day, the non-profit Helping Hands of Ceylon will have a vendor/flea market space (no food) on Main Street at the open space between the buildings, across the street from the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. Contact Barb Kronback or Chris Griffin on Facebook for a 12×12 space (byob tables, tents, etc.). There is a $25 fee for the all-day event.
The Sherburn Theatre will feature the movie, “The Unbreakable Boy” at 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. on Sundays this weekend and next weekend. Tickets are $5. A concession stand is available.
CREST’s Lunch-N-Learn will be at 11 a.m. on March 19 at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont. There will be a light lunch to follow. These programs are free to senior citizens in Martin County. CREST appreciates a free will donation for the lunch.
Lenten Mid-week services will be held in area churches. The St.Paul’s Community Church in Welcome has Bible Study at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays 6 p.m. The Circle of Faith Parishes meet at 6 p.m. on Wednesdays at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome for a light supper and the 7 p.m. service. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert has a service at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, with a cooperative lunch to follow. Their partner church, St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sherburn, has a service at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, with a supper after. Area residents are welcome to join these churches at these events.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be on March 17 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont, March 28 at the LiveFit Gym in Fairmont, April 9 at Truman High School, April 15 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, April 14 at Martin Luther High School in Northrop, and April 18 at the American Legion Hall in Fairmont.
