Lions Club Burger Bash on Saturday

TRUMAN — On Friday evening, the blood moon will grace the sky. When fully eclipsed, the full moon takes on a reddish tinge.

The Leon Olsen Band will play from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at the Lewisville Legion Post 561.

The Truman Lions Club’s Burger Bash will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, at the Truman Community Building. Enjoy fresh burgers, beans, condiments, chips and beverages. To-go is available.

The Lewisville Legion Auxiliary will serve their delicious chicken from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 16.

The GIFT kids are doing a service project for Truman during March. They are collecting change (quarters, dimes, etc.) in pill bottles to help with expenses at the swimming pool. Paper money and checks made out to Trinity Gift are also welcome. They appreciate any contributions. Give them to Ashley Parish or Cathy Sorenson, or drop them off at City Hall.

St. Patrick’s Day is Monday, March 17, and the Lewisville Legion is celebrating from 5 to 10 p.m. with food and drink specials.

Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m on Monday, March 17 at the Municipal building. These meetings are open to the public.

The Truman School Board meeting will be held at 5:30 pm on Monday, in the board conference room.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 a.m.

Second Harvest Heartland, a nutrition assistance program for seniors, will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Wednesday, March 19. Come to Trinity Lutheran Church in Truman to pick up your box. Eligibility is based on age 60 years and up, household size, and income. Pre-register at (800) 365-0270.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church has a 10 a.m. Chapel and a 6 p.m. Lenten Service on Wednesday.

Trinity Lutheran church youth will serve tacos in a bag, fruit, and bars from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a free-will donation. The Lenten Worship service will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The public is welcome.

The Truman School District Preschool screening is on April 9. Contact licensed School Nusre Cairne Eytcheson for paperwork and an appointment at (507) 776-2111.
