Spaghetti dinner next week

TRUMAN — CREST offers a four-week course called “Balance Matters” that covers all aspects of balance and gives participants tips on how to stay upright. The course also introduces a balance exercise program to do at home. The class is offered from 9:30 to 11 a.m. from March 11 to April 1 at the CREST office (820 Winnebago Avenue) in Fairmont. Daylight Savings Time begins on Sunday, so set your clock one hour ahead before going to bed Saturday night.

Looking for a summer job with a starting wage of $14? Truman is now hiring summer lifeguards. Contact the City Clerk’s office (202 West Ciro Street) at (507) 776-7951 for more information. The office is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church has a 10 a.m. Chapel and a 6 p.m. Lenten Service on Wednesday, March 12.

Trinity Lutheran Church youth will serve spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and cookies from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday for a free will donation. The Lenten Worship Service will begin at 6:30 pm on Wednesday. The public is welcome to join.

Truman will have a community garden this summer. The raised plots are located behind the school. If interested in growing vegetables and would like to reserve one or more spaces, contact Pat Jones at (507) 236-4433. The produce you raise will be for your use, or if you want to sell your produce, the farmer’s market would also be welcome. Free seeds will be offered for raised garden plots. If you would like assistance, we also have help available from our local county extension office. This could be a good project for the youth, family, or a 4-H project.
