Planning ongoing for Community Day Auction
CEYLON — Our Savior’s Lutheran Church will have services at 5:30 p.m. tonight. They have a Bible Class at 9:30 a.m. each Tuesday. Area residents are welcome to join.
The Circle of Faith Parishes will change to its March schedule. Sunday services will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome and 9 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Trimont during March. Ash Wednesday is March 5, the beginning of the Lenten Season. The Circle of Faith Parishes will meet at 7 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Trimont. The Midweek Lenten services for the rest of the Lenten Season will all be held at 7 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Welcome with a light supper at 6 p.m. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Wilbert will have Ash Wednesday services at 6:30 p.m. on March 5 followed by a cooperative lunch. Area residents are welcome to join.
Coffee Lovers group meets from 8:30 to 10 a.m. on Thursday at the banquet/back room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. Area residents are welcome to join them for coffee and fellowship.
Cribbage Tournaments begin with registration at 1:15 p.m. on March 8 and March 15 at the Welcome Legion Hall. Any area cribbage player is welcome to join the fun.
The Lake Belt Bar and Grill will have Horse Racing And Meat Raffles at 2 p.m. on March 8.
The Ceylon Fire Department will serve breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon on March 9 at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. The menu includes scrambled eggs, French toast, pancakes, sausage, ham, and beverages. A free-will donation is encouraged for the Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association.
The American Red Cross blood drives will be held on March 17 at St. Vianney Catholic Church in Fairmont and March 28 at the Live Fit Gym in Fairmont. Mark your calendar for the Ceylon Community Day Auction on April 12. The Helping Hands of Ceylon non-profit group is planning a Vendor event that day in the space between buildings across the street from the Lake Belt Bar and Grill. For details on a 12 x 12 space, contact Barb Kronback or Chris Griffin on Facebook Messenger. There will be no food vendors at this space. A Ceylon High School All Class Reunion will be on June 28 at the Lake Belt Bar and Grill banquet/back room and on Center Street in Ceylon. They will have a social hour, catered dinner, and musical entertainment by the BeeKays. Reservations for the dinner must be received by May 1. Since this is also the 125th anniversary of Ceylon’s founding, the Ceylon Area Historical Society Museum will open the Time Capsule from the 2000 Ceylon Centennial celebration during the reunion and will have items for sale.
