Law enforcement looking for shooting suspect
TRUMAN– Multiple agencies are searching for a suspect who shot an adult female in the chest with a pistol on Thursday evening in Truman.
Law enforcement has identified the suspect as Kyle Jonathan Liford and at this time law enforcement says his location is unknown.
According to a press release, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic assault at 6:14 p.m. on Feb. 27 in the city of Truman where an adult female had been shot in the chest with a pistol. A firearm was found and secured at the scene by law enforcement.
The female was transported to the hospital and Martin County Deputy Clinton Cole said her condition is unknown.
Liford is possibly driving a Green Chevrolet Tahoe. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone who has information on his whereabouts contact the agency at 507-238-4481.
At this time this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public, but Cole said, “if the public sees him, they should not approach him but call law enforcement. Don’t try to do a citizen’s arrest. Call us, keep eyes on him. Be a good witness, get license plate numbers.”
Assisting at the scene was Fairmont Police Department, Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force, Truman Ambulance and Mayo Ambulance.
This is an active investigation and the Martin County Sheriff’s Office will continue to work with other agencies.
“It’s a coordinated effort,” Cole said.
