GIFT kids raising money for Truman pool

TRUMAN — The Lewisville Legion will have karaoke at 8 p.m. on Saturday, March 1.

The GIFT kids are doing a service project for Truman during February and March. They are collecting change (quarters, dimes, etc.) in pill bottles to help with expenses at the swimming pool. Paper money and checks made out to Trinity Gift are also welcome. They appreciate any contributions. Give them to Ashley Parish or Cathy Sorenson, or drop them off at City Hall.

Truman City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday at the municipal building. These meetings are open to the public.

Truman Public School students will be on Spring Break from March 4 to 7.

Wednesday is recycling day. Please place your recycling containers curbside by 7 am.

St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church has 10 a.m. Chapel and a 6 p.m. Ash Wednesday Service with Holy Communion on Wednesday, March 5.

Trinity Lutheran Church youth will serve a meal from 5:15-6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lenten Ash Wednesday worship service will be at 6:30 p.m.

Red Rock Center for the Arts has announced two post-secondary arts scholarships valued at $1,000 and $500. The scholarships will support the arts and foster the development of future artists, makers, and creators within our community through continued education. Applications are open to all high school seniors and returning college students in Martin County. Eligibility extends to various fields, including design, art education, theatre, and music instruction.
