Fairmont bags gold in Scarlet speech invite
FAIRMONT — Twenty-six members of the Fairmont Speech Team competed at the “Scarlet Invitational” Speech Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Mankato West High School in Mankato. Fairmont took First Place in the team sweepstakes with 132 points. Orono took Second Place with 113 points. Mankato West took Third Place with 65 points.
Varsity Individual Results:
Senior Zoey Tasseff took Third Place in Creative Expression.
Senior Grace Simpson was the Champion in Dramatic Interpretation.
Seniors Grace Simpson and Oliver Thedens took Second Place in Duo Interpretation.
Sophomore Annie Reyelts and Freshman Evan Reyelts took Fifth Place in Duo Interpretation.
Senior Oliver Thedens took Third Place in Extemporaneous Reading.
Senior Dominick Lund-May was the Champion in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Junior Bel Lutterman took Second Place in Extemporaneous Speaking.
Junior Levi Loughmiller took Fifth Place in Extemporaneous Speaking.
