CEYLON — The Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Ceylon will have its 5:30 p.m. service tonight. They also have a Bible Study each Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Area residents are welcome to join them for these events.

The Ceylon Area Historical Society will gather for its Annual Meeting at 4:30 p.m. on Feb. 5 at the Portage Bank in Ceylon. All members are urged to attend.

The Circle of Faith Parishes will hold Feb. services at 9 a.m. on Sundays at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon and 10:30 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church, north of Welcome.

The Sherburn Theatre will feature “Dogman” this weekend. Showtimes are 7 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays and at 4 p.m. on Sundays.

Condolences to the family of Kara Closs of Fairmont. She may be remembered as a teacher at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Wilbert. She will be missed.

Coffee Lovers meet from 8:30 to 10 a.m. each Thursday in the banquet room in the back of Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. All area residents are welcome to join them for fellowship and coffee.

A Cribbage Tournament will begin at 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 8 at the Welcome Legion. They will play on Feb. 15. They usually have a tournament on the second and third Saturdays until spring. All cribbage players are welcome to join in the fun.

The Red Cross Blood Drives will be on Feb. 10 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont, on Feb. 21 at the American Legion in Fairmont, on Feb. 24 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome and on Feb. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. In upcoming news, there will be a Pancake Brunch fundraiser for the Ceylon Fire Department Relief Association from 9 a.m. to noon on Feb. 16 in the banquet room of the Lake Belt Bar and Grill in Ceylon. There will be an All-School Reunion for Ceylon High School alumni on June 28. Schedule your vacation days for that weekend. This year is also the 125th anniversary of the founding of Ceylon.
