WELCOME — Tomorrow is Feb. 1. The Circle of Faith Parishes will have Feb. services scheduled at 9 a.m. at Waverly Lutheran Church and 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Ceylon, north of Welcome, on Sundays.

The Red Cross Blood Drives in Feb. will be on Feb. 10 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont, on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont, on Feb. 21 at the American Legion in Fairmont, on Feb. 24 at the St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome and on Feb. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Blood is urgently needed now so give it if you are able.

Condolences to the families of Diann Bloomquist and Barbara Clark who recently passed away. They will be missed by family and friends.

The Martin County West School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 11. Please note the change of date and time since their usual meeting date is the President’s Day holiday. There will be no school on that date, Feb. 17.

The Welcome City Council is scheduled to meet at 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 at the City Hall. All members are encouraged to attend. The Burn Site in Welcome will be open for Welcome residents only from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 5. Please bring only six inches in circumference or smaller wood. Metal, garbage and similar materials are prohibited.
