Speech team crosses off Wayzata

FAIRMONT — 16 members of the Fairmont Speech Team competed at the Wayzata Speech Tournament on Saturday, Jan. 25, in Plymouth, Minn. There were more than 40 schools in attendance with nearly 1,000 students competing.

Varsity Next-In Final Results:

Senior Grace Simpson took Second Place in Dramatic Interpretation

Senior Oliver Thedens took Second Place in Extemporaneous Reading.

Seniors Grace Simpson and Oliver Thedens took Fifth Place in Duo Interpretation.

Varsity Merit Finals Results:

Sophomore Leon Yang was the Champion in Humorous Interpretation.

Varsity Consolation Finals Results:

Sophomore Annie Reyelts and Freshman Evan Reyelts took Sixth Place in Duo Interpretation.

Fairmont Speech competes at Apple Valley on Saturday, Feb. 1. The Fairmont Speech Team is coached by Kathleen Walker, Erik Walker and Miles Duffey.
