FAIRMONT– Four new Martin County residents have been selected as this year’s 4 Under 40 honorees. They are Laura Spitzer, Kristy Olson, Anna Garbers and Lakyn Bremer.

The program, put on by Boy Scouts of America, Twin Valley Council, is now in its fifth year locally. It aims to recognize up and coming leaders in the community for their commitments and contributions on a personal and professional level.

Erik Karre, Field Director, said he thinks it’s important to continue the program because it allows an opportunity to meet new people and learn about what they’re doing in the community.

“It’s an amazing opportunity to shine a spotlight on people who may be under the radar because they don’t have a lifetime of service,” Karre said.

He said this year they received 12 nominees. To be a nominee, one must live or work in Martin County and be under the age of 40. Nominations can be submitted by anyone and a selection committee of past honorees and business and community leaders choose the people who are honored each year.

Spitzer is the founder and owner of Indulge & Co. in Fairmont. Anna Garbers is the Division Director of Behavioral Health and Social Services of Faribault and Martin Counties. Bremer is the owner of Hair Etc., Lakyn’s Care 501(c)3 founder and a member of Truman Ambulance. Olson works as a Registered Nurse and Documentation Specialist at Mayo Clinic.

The four will be honored at a recognition event on March 11 at the Best Western in Fairmont. Tickets for the event will be on sale at scoutingtwinvalley.org/4under40 beginning on Feb 3.

Full articles on each of the honorees will appear in the Sentinel in the coming weeks.

Starting at $2.99/week.
