Food distribution this Friday
SHERBURN — The Martin County West School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the Elementary School board room.
The Martin County Schools will have an early dismissal at 12:15 p.m. on Jan. 24 for a teacher’s workshop. Jan. 24 is the end of the school’s second quarter.
The postponed Ruby’s Pantry Grocery Distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn. There is a $25 cost. There are no income or residential guidelines.
St. John’s Lutheran Church will have its Annual Voter’s Meeting at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 26. All members are encouraged to attend.
The Memory Cafe will meet at 3 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the Temperance Lake Ridge facility. This is a support group for family members and caregivers of Alzheimer’s and dementia patients.
The Mayo Mobile Clinic will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Jan. 27 and 29 in Sherburn near the City Hall. For appointments, contact (507) 238-8500 and mention the Sherburn Clinic.

The Sherburn Theatre is not showing movies in Jan. but has scheduled the movie, A Complete Unknown (about Bob Dylan), for Jan. 24, 25 and 26. They have scheduled the movie Dogman for Jan. 31, Feb. 1 and 2. The showtimes are 7 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 4 p.m. on Sundays.
The Red Cross Blood drives are scheduled for Feb. in the area. A drive will be on Feb. 10 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. Drives will be on Feb. 11 and 12 at the Best Western Hotel in Fairmont. A drive will be on Feb. 21 at the American Legion in Fairmont. A drive will be on Feb. 24 at the St.Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. A drive will be on Feb. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. Jan. is full of Athletic competition for the MCW Athletes. The wrestling team will go to a triangular meet at 5 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 23 in Waseca. The girl’s basketball team will compete at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 23 at Granada-Huntley-East Chain. The boy’s basketball team will play at 7 p.m. tomorrow, Jan. 23 in Sherburn against NRHEG. The girl’s hockey will battle Mankato West at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23 at the Fairmont Hockey Arena. The wrestling team will compete against Red Rock Central at 4 p.m. on Jan. 24 in Lamberton. The girl’s and boy’s hockey teams will compete against Morris-Benson teams at 5 and 7 p.m. respectively on Jan. 24 at the Fairmont Hockey Arena. The girl’s basketball team will compete with St. Clair at 7 p.m. on Jan. 24 in St. Clair. The gymnastics team will compete with Windom at 6 p.m. on Jan 24 in Windom. The boy’s hockey team will compete with LaCrescent-Hokah at 3 p.m. on Jan. 25 in LaCrescent.
