Meetings moved for MLK Day
WELCOME — A Cribbage Tournament will begin at 1:15 p.m., tomorrow, at the Welcome Legion Hall. All area cribbage players are welcome.
The Ruby’s Pantry grocery distribution will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Jan. 20 at the Regional Worship Center in Sherburn, south of I-90. For $25, residents can buy a trunk full of groceries. There are no income or residential guidelines. A partial list of items is on Facebook.
The Welcome City Council will meet at 6 p.m. on Jan. 21 at the City Hall. Public comments and questions will be accepted at the beginning of each meeting. To be on the regular agenda, contact City Hall at (507) 728-8740.
Condolences to the family of Randy Martinson who passed away recently. He will be remembered as the owner of Edie’s restaurant in Fairmont. He will be missed by family and friends.
Martin County West School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 22 at the Sherburn Elementary School. Note the change of date due to Monday being a holiday, MLK Day. The Sherburn City Council has moved their meeting to 5 p.m. on Jan. 21 at City Hall, due to that holiday. Check businesses for closings. There will be no mail delivery that day.
Red Cross Blood Drives will be in Martin County during February. A drive will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at the Sinn Family Celebration of Life Center in Trimont. The Best Western Hotel will have a drive on Feb. 11 and 12 in Fairmont. The American Legion will have a drive on Feb. 21 in Fairmont. A blood drive will be on Feb. 25 at Grace Lutheran Church in Fairmont. There will be a drive on Feb. 24 at St. Paul’s Community Church in Welcome. Give blood if you are able. There is an urgent need for blood at this time, and each unit of blood may save up to three lives.
